Overview
The Government's health and social care agenda demands a more efficient, innovative and integrated health service. The new landscape means that third sector health and social care organisations must develop relationships with GP clinical commissioning consortia, Health and Wellbeing Boards, and HealthWatch if they are to play a part in meeting these demands. This conference, for third sector health and social care leaders offered practical tools and expert insight to help organisations engage with these bodies during this crucial period.
As the sector continues to adapt to this new environment, the Chief Executive of the NHS, Sir David Nicholson, has challenged the NHS to make £20 billion worth of savings over the next four years. It is therefore paramount that third sector health and social care organisations are able to demonstrate value and cost-effectiveness. Sir David gave the morning keynote with a Q&A session that allowed delegates the opportunity to question what role he sees the sector playing in meeting this challenge.
