261 CEOs send open letter to the Chancellor on role of the third sector 1st December 2009 ACEVO has submitted an open letter to the Chancellor from 261 third sector chief executives calling for a high-level summit and setting out ways in which real reforms to public services, rather than salami-slicing, could lead to better outcomes and savings for Government. Over the coming period of fiscal tightening the third sector has a vital role to play in providing high quality, cost effective public services and it is critical that Government do not simply cut inputs to existing systems - a strategy which has proven to be very destructive in the past.
