Investing in Leaders: a new aspect in corporate social responsibility

Investing in LeadersThrough ‘Investing in Leaders’ ACEVO aims to develop new methods of supporting third sector organisations by removing barriers to accessing leadership development.

How?

Specifically, ACEVO seeks to engage public and private sector participants in cross sector learning, and in providing financial resource through bursaries, for third sector leaders to undertake professional development.

Through these models, we are providing opportunities for public and private sector organisations to invest intelligently and sustainably in the third sector by supporting the development of its leadership.

Demonstrating Impact and Value

Through the ‘Investing in Leaders’ we have been demonstrating the impact and effectiveness of these cross sector leadership development activities.

We have provided opportunities for third sector support provider leaders to take part in cross sector mentoring and peer learning with public and private sector leaders. We have also provided bursaries for leadership development programmes.

Not only is this a sustainable CSR activity, it also provides valuable development opportunities for the public or private sector participant.

Later this year, Cass Business School will publish a report on the impact and value of these activities on the third sector leader, their organisations and the wider third sector which they serve.

ACEVO commissioned Corporate Citizenship to undertake research which demonstrates some of the benefits of cross sector partnerships through real life case studies.
