ACEVO - Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations

policy: GET INVOLVED As a Member

Our policy work is based on the strong relationship we have with our members, and there are a variety of ways in which you can get involved, either by working with us or by telling us about the issues that matter to you.

  • Talk to us. For our policy work to be effective, we need to know what issues you are facing, what's happening on the ground, and what your views are. Whatever the issue, whatever the problem, whatever your view - we want to hear from you. You can get in contact with the ACEVO policy team by clicking here.
  • Make your idea happen. Many of our policy projects (publications, research, press-work, seminars, lobbying) are sparked by ACEVO members' suggestions. If you want to lead some ACEVO-backed work, or if you want ACEVO to take your idea forward, you can get in contact with the policy team here.
  • Work with us. A lot of our policy work relies on collaboration with ACEVO members and their organisations, whether their contribution be chairing a taskforce reporting to ministers or hosting a joint discussion event. If you have an idea for how you or your organisation could work together with ACEVO's policy team, get in contact with us here.
  • Join a Special Interest Group. We run 14 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) bringing together ACEVO members with a shared interest in a particular field. Part of what the groups do is inform ACEVO's policy work, or to lead that work themselves. For instance, the groups regularly meet with top-level policy-makers (in the last six months alone 4 of the groups met with relevant government ministers), whilst the Sustainability SIG led the writing of a 'think piece' commissioned by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). You can find out more about all the Special Interest Groups here.
