Commissioning and Procurement Case Studies 

The following case studies are based on real procurement and commissioning processes that have happened around the UK.  They illustrate different aspects of how the legal rules have been applied at the local level in procurement processes and how different third sector organisations have interacted with them.

The case studies have been produced as learning aids for our ‘Winning A Bigger Buck For Your Bang’ training programme. 


Sustainable Public Service Delivery

NHS Sheffield Commission A New Service

Consortium Development Case Study

This case study shows how a number of arts and cultural charities and social enterprises in South Yorkshire have come together to form Viva: The South Yorkshire Arts Consortium. The Benefits and Challenges of Working Within a Consortium

This case study shows how one Sheffield based civil society organisation, Point Blank, has benefited from becoming a full member of several local third sector consortium that aim to deliver different types of public services. As well as considering the positive impacts it has had on their ability to provide services, it also considers the challenges they have had to overcome.
