International

The third sector is a powerful means for citizens to express ideas, address needs, influence markets, governments and multilateral institutions, and effect fundamental change. Its influence is significant and growing. However despite this growth, trans-national collaboration remains limited.

Delegates at the 2006 International Conference

acevo’s International Programme is pioneering a unique trans-national network of third sector leaders. We connect leaders across borders and fields, fostering peer learning, professional co-operation and a culture of collaborative action, in Europe and worldwide. All this is in support of a more effective and enterprising civil society capable of facing global challenges.

The International Programme’s work has two clear strands to it: In Europe we are working with euclid, the European network of third sector leaders; while in the rest of the world we are developing Achievers, a project to support groups of third sector leaders to develop their own associations, using acevo’s 20 years of experience. You can read more about these two strands by clicking on Euclid and Achievers.

Through the International Programme, acevo now develops, connects and supports International members in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. If you would like to join them, click on international membership to find out exactly what the benefits of membership are, and how you can join.

You can view the list of acevo and euclid's international events by selecting 'international' from the 'Type of event' field in the events page, which can be accessed by clicking here.

Finally, there is an International Advisory Group for members who are interetsed in acevo's international work and want to be involved. The group meets three times a year and is free to participate in. You can find more information about the group here.
