POLICY: POLITICAL PARTIES & THE GENERAL ELECTIONGovernment is a major funder of third sector organisations, sets the legislative and policy context in which those organisations operate, and can have a major impact on third sector organisations’ causes and beneficiaries. We believe it is therefore vital that the political parties either in Government or able to form Governments in future have a good understanding of the third sector, see the potential for working in partnership with the sector to achieve their policy goals, and understand how they can set an environment that allows the sector and its beneficiaries to thrive. ACEVO is well networked with decision makers in all the major political parties, and we continue to influence their policies related to the third sector in run up to the general election.
