Procurement & Commissioning - Legal Advice Helpline and Guidebook
ACEVO has collaboratively arranged with specialist charity and social enterprise solicitors, Bates Wells and Braithwaite, a procurement advice service that includes a free initial consultation. A major part of successful engagement with public sector public service commissioning, is to understand and be able to engage constructively with the formal contract procurement process that public sector bodies are required to apply. This is a technical and detailed area, but is often, in practice, made over-complicated and excessively burdensome. Furthermore, the purpose of procurement rules is to ensure that suppliers of services are treated fairly, equally and transparently, so service providers have important entitlements which every public sector commissioning body is required to respect. This service is only available to ACEVO members. Please visit the member benefits section to access more information on the Procurment and Commissioning Law Support Service To complement the service Julian Blake of Bates Wells and Braithwate has produced a guide to procurement law entitled 'Making Public Porcurement Work For Suppliers'.
