ACEVO's Impact
Proving the impact of infrastructure bodies can be challenging. ACEVO has been working with the charity think tank and consultancy, New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) on an exciting project to develop a framework to measure ACEVO’s impact and organisational outcomes. NPC facilitated a ‘theory of change’ workshop with ACEVO staff, looking at how our activities lead to immediate outcomes and longer-term impact. This process will help us ensure that our activities are strategic and on track. Using the findings from the theory of change workshop, NPC developed a framework. The framework will explore measurement in three areas to allow us to better understand our impact relating to:
- Information — the quality of ACEVO’s events and training, and members feeling that they learn things essential to their roles that they wouldn’t learn elsewhere
- Support — ACEVO members feeling supported, part of a network, less isolated and more informed
- Policy — ACEVO’s ability to change the wider environment in which third sector leaders operate
