These meetings are an opportunity for ACEVO members to network locally, gain peer support and hear from specialist speakers on the issues that affect us all; leadership, governance, personal effectiveness, leading through change and managing the workforce.

The forums are round table meetings with a limited number of places available to ensure quality group discussion. They are usually hosted by a member or ACEVO Coporate Partner over a sandwich lunch.

The ACEVO Board member in the South West is Menai Owen-Jones, CEO, The Pituitary Foundation.

These forum meetings are available to ACEVO members only. If you are not an ACEVO member but are interested in finding out more, please contact Sophie Thompson.

Date and Time:  14 March 2018, 11.45am - 2pm

Location: Womble Bond Dickinson, Temple Quay, 3 Temple Back East, Bristol BS1 6DZ

Topic: Leadership in challenging times

Speakers: Jenny Berry, ACEVO and Gaynor Lewis, The Institute of Leadership & Management

"Use change as an opportunity to refocus, refresh and revitalise..."

Our sector is going through an unprecedented period of upheaval and change. Budgets are under ever increasing pressure, funding opportunities and criteria are changing and many long established customs and practices are disappearing. Against this background CEOs have to try to steer a course to secure the future of their charity and at the same time maintain staff, morale and minimise the pain to those who work with, support and rely on the organisation.

Needless to say there are no magic solutions, but it can help to share experiences and explore what leadership thinking and behaviours can help ceos in their role. This is an open discussion, lead by Jenny Berry from ACEVO and Gaynor from the ILM.

Gaynor Lewis

With a passion for enabling people to grow, develop and reach their full potential, Gaynor Lewis believes effective leadership development is a key ingredient to achieving personal and organisational success. She is head of commercial development at The Institute of Leadership & Management, supporting the drive for greater collaboration and strategic alliances to promote better leadership at every level in organisations.

She is also Chair of Engage for Success - Leadership & Engagement: Thought & Action Group (TAG), a qualified Executive Coach and was previously deputy CEO of The Leadership Trust.

The forum will be chaired by Jenny Berry, members are invited to come along, to ask questions, and share your experiences and challenges over a sandwich lunch.
