ACEVO’s annual Pay and Equalities Survey is the most comprehensive breakdown of the sector’s CEO remuneration packages available. The report examines chief executive salaries, benefits and job satisfaction in detail. It also explores the level of equality and diversity in our sector’s leadership, and satisfaction levels in the make-up and performance of boards.
Despite the ongoing challenges faced by charity sector CEOs, this year’s Pay and Equalities Survey had an incredibly high response rate of 1,080 CEO responses. The survey continues to be a reliable snapshot of CEO pay, working conditions and representation across UK charities, as well as a useful benchmarking tool for salaries.
This report is entirely dependent on the contributions of members of ACEVO, ACOSVO and CO3, and bank customers of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), who spared time and thought to complete the survey. We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part, and to Sarasin and Partners for supporting this report.
The survey was designed by ACEVO and CAF, then set up and run as an online survey by CAF. Particular thanks are due to Catherine Mahoney at CAF.
