ACEVO’s annual Pay and Equalities Survey is the most comprehensive breakdown of the sector’s CEO remuneration packages available. The report examines chief executive salaries, benefits and job satisfaction in detail. It also explores the level of equality and diversity in our sector’s leadership, and satisfaction levels in the make-up and performance of boards.
The 2022 Pay and Equalities Survey gathered 897 responses, and comes as the sector emerges from two years of rapidly adapting services in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are new challenges on the horizon – the rising cost of living and the climate emergency, to name just two – but in many areas, the results show civil society beginning to stabilise and look ahead.
This report is entirely dependent on the contributions of members of ACEVO, ACOSVO and CO3, and bank customers of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), who spared time and thought to complete the survey. We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part, and to Barclays for supporting this report.
The survey was designed by ACEVO and CAF, then set up and run as an online survey by CAF.
