Dashboard Media is a creative-skills accelerator that trains charities or brands to make videos with everyday tech such as mobile phones. Our mission is to give not-for-profits the skills to tell their stories in a simple and affordable way
Founded in London by world-class journalists, we know how to make great content. But we also believe that most people have vast untapped potential to do so themselves
Dashboard Media has already helped dozens of charities to get digital. Our partners include Cancer Research UK, The British Heart Foundation, Age UK, and The World Wildlife Fund
Whether you want to capture traditional clips or stunning 360-videos, we’ll get you up-and-running with a fully mobile workflow
Your people will learn to:
- Plan video shoots that work in all conditions
- Understand the art of visual storytelling
- Capture footage that’s rock-solid and pin-sharp
- Record clear audio with ‘mobile’ mics
- Edit on the phone with voiceover or titles
- Publish straight onto social channels
- Broadcast live with Facebook or Instagram
How we work
If you have at least five people, Dashboard will bring the show to you, wherever you are based. Individuals or smaller teams are welcome at our public courses in central London. Got specific needs? Get in touch and we’ll find a solution.
“The Mobile Video Pro courses are fab. We now send your mobile-video kits out with our permanent shooting staff in the field” Nicole Itano, former Head of Creative Delivery of Save the Children and The World Wildlife Fund
“We are proud of what our media-relations teams have achieved with mobile video these past few years. A little training has certainly taken them a long way” Michelle Mitchell, chief executive, Cancer Research UK.
Dashboard Media is run by Alex Pell, the former tech-editor of The Sunday Times. In 2015, Alex won the JustGiving ‘Tech for Good’ award as co-founder of SnapDonate, the fundraising app.
