Commenting, Sir Stephen Bubb, the Chief Executive of the charity leaders’ network ACEVO said:
‘People who give to charity expect the maximum impact for their donations and value for money. Donors understand that paying an executive £50 K is £50 K wasted if that executive fails to deliver. Conversely, investing £150 K in a high performing executive is money well spent. As we approach Christmas, and as the winter bites, thousands of charities will help some of society’s most vulnerable people Those that do the best job will generally have appropriately remunerated executives in post. We ignore this reality at our peril.’
