This report was an examination of the relationship between the third sector and trade unions. Written by former political secretary to Number 10, Nita Clarke, this outlined this relationship as a potential ‘Achilles heel’ for the third sector. This was in part due to the danger of an ‘amateur approach’ creeping in to the management of charities. Building on a wide area of mutual interest or shared concern, this report made extensive recommendations for the improvement of third sector- trade union relations.
