Crucial conversations are often the ones we put off – yet they’re the conversations that have the biggest impact on culture, performance and relationships.

The conversations we avoid rarely disappear – they simply become bigger, more uncomfortable and complex. When issues aren’t tackled, resentment grows, trust declines and relationships fails. Whether it’s addressing performance, managing conflict or giving honest feedback, this workshop equips leaders with the tools to have the conversations that matter most, with integrity, confidence and care.

This half-day workshop will support you to:

• identify the types of ‘difficult conversations’ charity sector leaders facilitate
• install a pull culture of feedback within your organisation
• reframe your mindset around ‘difficult conversations’
• explore frameworks that facilitate honest and human conversations
• embed techniques that support generational differences and neurodivergent characteristics
• identify techniques to support yourself and others in emotionally charged conversations
• tackle live issues with peers and identify appropriate actions

This practical session will support leaders with the confidence and skills to tackle conversations with honesty and empathy.

Karen is an Associate Trainer at Annie's Training Company and hKaren has a passion for working with organisations committed to social change, helping teams and individuals to be high performing and recognise the value of staff satisfaction, inclusion and wellbeing to their success.

Through sharing models and frameworks, thoughtful questioning and offering examples and tools and techniques, Karen’s training style provides people with practical skills and builds their resilience, helping them to identify the actions and resources needed to work in a positive and constructive way.

Her training specialises in leadership, change management, communication, people and team development, resilience, mindfulness & workplace wellbeing. As an experienced fundraising leader, she has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over twenty years at local and national charities, specialising in public fundraising. Karen is also a qualified person-centred counsellor, with a private practice based on values of empathy, empowerment and authenticity.

She holds a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is registered with the BACP, she also has a BSc in Psychology from UCL and is a qualified Mindfulness and Compassion teacher.
