When something feels wrong: managing organisational concerns with confidence

This workshop is for civil society leaders who are concerned about challenges in their organisation and want help working out what needs attention, what action to take, and when and how to seek support.

You could be a new leader, in a new role, or an experienced leader going through an unsettling change of circumstances in your organisation.  

Designed in particular for leaders of small to medium sized organisations, the session will help you to: 

• identify which issues require urgent attention, and which you can set aside 
• assess and articulate concerns confidently 
• decide when and how to communicate issues to your board and staff team 
• understand which issues you can deal with internally, and when specialist external advice is advisable 
• navigate external advice (including free sources of support)  
• manage the personal impact of dealing with difficulties 

You will leave with: 

• greater confidence around which issues need your attention and which can wait 
• tools and techniques for analysing issues and shaping your response and communication 
• a set of resources on seeking external support when needed 
• a personal action plan for navigating the challenges you face, whilst taking care of your own resilience and wellbeing 

We appreciate that this can be a sensitive topic, so if you have any concerns about booking on, e.g. event emails or how the invitation appears in your calendar, please do get in touch. The calendar invitation for this workshop is set to show as ‘ACEVO event’ rather than the workshop title. Email titles will not mention the name of the event, but email content may do. Invoices will mention the event title. We can also arrange booking via a personal email address if this would be helpful.
