A successful double act

Be one half of a Dynamic Duo

ACEVO and the Association of Chair’s Dynamic Duo workshop is back in digital format on 17 September. The full-day training session, sponsored by Sarasin & Partners, is aimed at charity CEOs and chairs and explores how to balance the roles and bring out the best in each other by looking at the CEO/chair relationship from both perspectives. The day (complete with healthy breaks and lots of opportunity for engagement) will be led by Jenny Berry, director of leadership and governance at ACEVO, and Ros Oakley, chief executive of the Association of Chairs. It will also feature a guest chair and a guest CEO to share their experiences. Chairs and chief executives are both welcome, and we particularly recommend you attend as a pair. It’s an excellent opportunity to take stock of and review how you are working together. For more details, pricing and to book your place, please check the website

Are you a new CEO?

The session, led by head of member support Tom Andrews, will feature breakout discussions as well as sharing learning and insights with the whole group. Book now

Free day-to-day cost review

ACEVO’s partner ProVantage Procurement is offering members a free review of their organisation’s spend profile, aiming to control costs better during the upcoming recession – including payment terms, reduced invoicing, reduced risk and exposure, ensuring better compliance, better supplier management and all day-to-day costs. Suppliers are as keen to future-proof business as everyone else so it’s a perfect market for restructuring existing contracts and renegotiating agreements. To book your review, please complete this short questionnaire

Ensure your charity is fundable in the recovery phase

Alex Blake, director at KEDA Consulting, has written a briefing for ACEVO members outlining five questions civil society leaders should ask to ensure their organisations are in the best possible position to receive funding. “The cases for support that really stand out at the moment are those where the charity conveys clearly how the world has changed for its beneficiaries and how it has adapted its services to best meet the need and demand in this new environment.” Read the full briefing here
