ICYMI: April 2020

In case you missed it is a monthly round-up of what we have been up to at ACEVO. Communications Officer Heloisa Righetto shares links to recently published content, newly launched events and interesting discussions taking place on social media.

Member support

The ACEVO Community was launched and it’s buzzing! The Community is a space for ACEVO members to share experiences, ask questions and offer advice and support. To access the community you need to opt-in: log in on the website using your email and password, and click on ‘ACEVO Community’ in the top right corner. You will then be asked to accept the code of conduct and privacy statement before signing up. After you receive the welcome email you’re ready to use it. I highly recommend you watch the short video in the ‘About’ section of the community which will help you navigate the platform.

Our member support team also launched two new ways of connecting and getting in touch. If you’d like to have a one to one call with either Jenny or Tom – both experienced coaches and previous chief executives -, you can now use the ‘Talk to us’ service. Simply email support@acevo.org.uk with the heading ‘Talk to us’, whether that is about:

  • your own wellbeing,
  • how to manage during the coming weeks,
  • or just a chance to share and have a sounding board.

And if you’d like to meet your peers and wrap the week on a positive note, you can join the Friday Review: an informal gathering of leaders, to check-in with one another and share learning. Hosted by ACEVO’s head of member support, Tom Andrews, this is a space to pause, reflect and connect. Every Friday, 4-4:45pm, you can book your place here.

Latest resources

The coronavirus page continues to be updated frequently, and we have also created a few new pages to help members find information about services provided by ACEVO’s corporate partners and the government’s Job Retention Scheme. In the FAQs, you will find the answers to the questions we have been receiving from members lately.

In the Recommended training page we have been adding webinars and workshops led by partners and other organisations, such as Acas and The Institute of Leadership and Management.

Announced new events

We have plenty of webinars going on in the next few months, including a series on governance which will be led by ACEVO’s Jenny Berry and Joy Allen, from Leading Governance. Make sure you check the webinars page to see the full offer.

See you in May!
