ACEVO trustee elections 2022

ACEVO is pleased to confirm two trustee appointments following our recent call for nominations from our membership.

Kate Allen, chief executive of Ategi, is continuing to her second term of three years, and Andrew Copson, chief executive of Humanists UK, will join the board in December.

In September, we invited nominations for three seats on our board. As we did not receive more than three nominations, it was not necessary to carry out a full election process. However, the nominations were reviewed by a panel of current trustees before candidates were put forward for ratification by the board.

The board is now pleased to confirm Kate as re-elected unopposed for her second term and to appoint Andrew as elected unopposed for a term of three years.  Both appointments will be ratified at the December board meeting.

Kate Allen said: “The real benefits of ACEVO’s work are felt across England and Wales by the beneficiaries of many charities.  The life of a charity leader is rarely smooth and the last two years particularly hard for most with further, different, challenges ahead. The supportive network, safe space, and learning and development opportunities that ACEVO creates for its members is never needed more.   I am delighted to have been appointed to sit on the ACEVO Board of Trustees for a second term to continue my contribution to further the good work the charity does.”

Andrew Copson said: “I have been an ACEVO member for 12 years and I can’t think of another time at which our organisation has been so needed as it is today. I’m looking forward to working with everyone to make sure that ACEVO continues to offer the member support and sector voice which it is so well placed to provide.”

Rosie Ferguson, chair of ACEVO, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Andrew and continuing to work with Kate as we tackle the challenges and opportunities ahead for ACEVO and the sector.”
