The Charity Commission has refreshed its guidance on decision making. The legal requirements remain the same, which the guidance continues to cover. In addition, the new guidance emphasises the collective responsibility of trustees and reiterates principles for good decision-making. Code of fundraising practice consultation
The Fundraising Regulator is consulting on a new version of the Code of Fundraising Practice, which has been fully redrafted following feedback from the 2023 Code Consultation. They will use your feedback to make further amendments to the redrafted code before publishing in early 2025. Following publication, there will be a six-month implementation period to allow charitable institutions to update their approaches to meet the standards in the new code.
Heritage carbon literacy training courses
The Heritage Alliance is delighted to be delivering a new Heritage Carbon Literacy training course to help heritage organisations improve their awareness of carbon consumption, and of the individual steps that can be taken to reduce their carbon emissions and become more environmentally sustainable. The course has been created and funded by Historic England, with the assistance of Historic Buildings & Places, and is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Trust.
