Nearly 40 years ago we were founded by three chief execs who found it tough at the top, and we are still here supporting CEOs in this unique role.

Our full membership is designed to help CEOs navigate being the pinch point between their board and their team. Time and time again, we see that when leaders invest in themselves and their own development the benefits ripple out to their team, organisation and beneficiaries.

A confidential and ‘safe space’ service for members who need advice and support on governance related issues, including improving communication, defining responsibilities, and managing problems with your board.

Virtually meet with peers from across the country to discuss the challenges and opportunities that civil society leaders face. Hear from other members, inspiring speakers, industry experts and our member support team to tackle the issues you have in a safe space.

We have partnered with My Coaching Place to offer our members up to nine free coaching sessions Speaking to a coach creates a safe space outside of your organisation to discuss your career progression and the challenges that may arise through the recruitment process.

As a busy CEO it’s hard to know where to turn to for good advice and to share the load, no matter what you are facing we are here for you. Reach out to our advice and support team with any questions you may have, they are here to listen and support you. 

We have developed a suite of tools for you to use to create a free leadership development plan to help with your career progression. You can use these tools to create a plan on your own, with support from a coach or mentor, or directly with ACEVO’s member support team.

Our mentors all have experience of being a civil society leader. A mentor listens, supports and shares their own knowledge, skills and perspectives. Building a relationship with someone who has experience of being a CEO themselves is hugely beneficial to those considering the role.

Within our dedicated online community, our members are connecting with each other on a daily basis to share experiences, ask questions and offer advice and support. It’s also a great tool to see what challenges other leaders are facing and whether they could be heading your way too!

A range of templates, toolkits, forms and straightforward guides to complex codes and procedures, which can be adapted to the needs of your organisation.

Our CEO in Crisis service supports you when you believe you are at a crisis point and/or when your job is at risk. We will guide and support you in strict confidence, and help you build a plan of action.
